Greeters are the people who check newcomers’ applications to this site, to be sure the right info is filled in. It was a Greeter who sent you the email that welcomed you here! As it says above, to make it easier, there are guidelines to follow and pre-written emails to send. And of course, there is a friendly Greeter Co-Chair available for backup every day. You can have your pick of the available days, and choose the time of day to do the job.
It’s a nice first step into service, and it also takes so little time that it is easy to carry with another service role.
Hugs,
an (current Greeter Co-Chair)
When we say “little time” we mean about 5-10 minutes a week. There are often no new applications so that the only time it takes is to log into an email account and see that there are none for the day.
I have a couple of times coming up where I will be away from my computer/internet for several days in the next couple of months. Would I be able to work around that?
Joan
I have been a greeter for several quarters. The time required is less than 15 minutes per week. A good way to serve for a beginner. I will definitely volunteer again.
