It’s not that hard or time consuming, and I will give the same support while you learn that Elizabeth gave to me – I find it very positive, being part of the process of welcoming newcomers into ASPFR.

This is a relatively simple role that does not take a lot of time from your schedule. I found it very rewarding to help welcome newcomers to the site, remembering how badly I needed it when I first got here. This is a great first dip into service. When I got busy, I got better!

No need to worry about the relatively short learning period (6 months left) before the current experienced Co-Chair’s term is up – I will stay available to answer questions until you are confident, and as it says above, others are available for support too. And in truth, I have found it to be a pretty routine job overall.

ASPFR can squeak by without a full roster of Greeters, but we do need Greeter Co-Chairs to oversee, support, and co-ordinate them. So if you are hesitating about stepping up, please feel free email me to talk about your concerns. I won’t pressure you, I’ll just answer your questions.
